Rheumatoid Arthritis Pain Relief

By greenherbal at 2008-12-16 01:10:11
Palindromic rheumatoid arthritis disease is whereby you experience periodic episodes of pain, swelling, warmth, and stiffness of joints. You have recurrent attacks of transient inflammation in and around the joint. The pain is usually focused on two or three joints. The pain can be very severe and it is difficult to find relief.

Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis mostly affects children below the age of 16. Unlike the rheumatoid arthritis of adults, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is a group of several diseases. The only common characteristic of the adult and child rheumatoid arthritis is the “inflammation of joints and pain”.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic autoimmune disease that is characterized by inflammation of the joints, often accompanied by deformities.

The main physical difference between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis is that with osteoarthritis when the cartilage between the bone ends has worn thin the pain results from the bone ends rubbing together. And with rheumatoid arthritis the cartilage is not thinned but the fluid filled membrane surrounding the joint becomes inflamed and the bones can actually start eroding.

Diet is also important. A healthy, well balanced diet is an important part of living a healthy life. Regardless of whether you choose manufactured drugs or are looking for a natural arthritis treatment, eating the right foods can help with your rheumatoid arthritis pain relief. Choose plenty of natural foods (rather than pre-packaged ones) so that you can control the ingredients and make sure that your meals include plenty of fruit and vegetables. Keep sugar and salt levels down. Make sure that your vitamin intake is at least up the recommended daily allowance (RDA) – a good multivitamin pill will out you on the right track.

When the first signs of arthritis appear, you may feel bewildered and you will have many questions. So call your health care provider if you think you have symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. Symptoms of arthritis include aching, pain or stiffness in or throughout a joint. They may start gradually or as a sudden attack.

Home Remedies for Rheumatoid Arthritis:

Here are some simple home remedies that will help you cope with your disease. Some of these remedies help with pain, while other are known to help with the swelling and inflammation so commonly experienced with rheumatoid arthritis.

Among the oldest known natural remedies for rheumatoid arthritis pain relief is comfrey. Salves composed of comfrey root were used historically by native peoples throughout the world to reduce swelling, promote healing of broken bones, and for arthritis. Today it is still recommended by herbalists and naturalists to reduce inflammation. In order to provide rheumatoid arthritis pain relief, reducing inflammation is the key.

There are also some natural foods and spices that can help the body deal with certain types of arthritis. Foods such as pineapple tend to have certain enzymes that can help prevent mild inflammation, and might, as a result, be able to give some relief. Other herbs that some natural remedy experts recommend include ginger, cayenne pepper, ginkgo biloba, and green tea.
